Brick House Tavern

Brickhouse Tavern is a great place to watch sporting events or to just go for a place to eat. The set up is unique and I think that is what I love most. Very relaxing and great for any sporting event! I wish could come here for the NFL draft today but we are going to a place closer to us. I will defiantly be coming here for a BROWNS away game. They have an area with couches and TVs. You can reserve ahead of time or have a seat if available with mo notice. This would be great for a birthday party as well. The service and food were great. Some drinks to try are the bees knees. It is sweet so I would only recommend one or two. The other for a longer duration...such as a football game or draft lol. It is a long tube of beer that can easily be split between 4-5 people. If you have not checked this place out...I highly recommend you do!!!!

Crock Pot Portobella Chicken

I attempted a new recipe a couple of weeks ago and it turned out great, simple, healthy and delicious.  I was looking to make something different but use what I had in my fridge. So here is what I came up with:

Crock Pot Portobella Chicken

Ingredients:

Two Chicken Breasts (Fat Cut off, of course)
1 Cup of Brown Rice
Feta Cheese (Add as preferred, usually 3 oz is enough)
Portobella Mushrooms (half a container)
1/4 a bottle of Italian dressing
16 oz Water
How to make:

Marinate the chicken over night in a 1/4 bottle of Italian dressing or whatever your favorite marinade is. Place chicken with dressing in a crock pot the next morning. Add the 16 oz of water or fill the crock pot to half full. Use half a container of portobella mushrooms. I like to slice them before putting them in the pot. Then sprinkle the feta cheese over the chicken. You can add as preferred. I used whatever was left in the container about 3 ounces. Let it cook on slow while you are at work or 6-8 hours. Shred the chicken and serve over brown rice with some of the juices.

It is healthy, tasty, easy, and amazinggggg!!!

I didn't take any pics this time but wanted to add an image for pinterest.

CHI TOWN

We went to Chicago for Jason's 30th birthday and have to say.... love the city and can't wait to go back. We will however pick a less busy weekend. Between the BIG 10 and St. Patty's day it was wall to wall people. As much fun as St. Patrick's day (celebrated on Saturday) was I think my favorite day was Sunday, when we explored the city. We were able to try some of the local restaurants and bars, see the bean, skydeck, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, trolley ride, and overall I have to say it was a successful trip.

Welcome Sign at Willis Tower before going on the Sky Deck. We arrived Friday afternoon, we thought we were making great timing. We made it to Chicago in five in half hours and then we hit traffic, that took another hour. We made in time for Jason's surprise at Willis Tower and to have some drinks and Pizza at Lou Malnatis!! Side note love me some deep dish pizza.

Bar Louie late into the St. Patty's Day Festivities

For party time on St. Patty's day I would say Bar Louie was the best place to go because of the location to our hotel and pricing. We ventured out later in the day but it was pretty packed to really get into anywhere. I am glad we stayed an extra day to see the city. You can see below we were fully content with Car Louie!! I have to thank everyone that was able to make it. They made it such a wonderful experience for Jason on his 30th birthday weekend. The best restaurant we ate at was Rosebud Trattoria, my in-laws discovered it on Saturday and we returned with the group on Sunday to try it out. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe the service and food we had. The next time you are in Chicago, check this place out you will love it! It reminds me of the old school Italians; ladies first, formal hand, and honesty.

Millennium park was worth the trip even with the cold weather, we had a blast touring the city. I can not wait to go back!! We took a trolley ride over to magnificent mile were we did some shopping and tasted Garrett's fantastic popcorn!

All You Need is Love

The Beatles said it best, All you need is love!!! I have seen a lot of negativity lately, sadness, and hate. It is really sad that people naturally want to be hurtful instead showing love and kindness.

Love is the glue that holds everything together. If you have love everything else falls into place. You see so much hate in the world and judging it is sad. I am not just talking about love in a romantic relationship but love for others. Many people, I see lately, making quick judgement and saying/doing hurtful things. There should be more respect for others. What happen to the golden rule, treat others as you would want to be treated.

I am truly blessed to have a great family and amazing friends. It really puts things in perspective on how blessed we really are. If you have not met my group of friends yet you must know we are a rare breed. We love each other as a family and bicker like one too. I wouldn't change anything for the world. This rant led to things I see outside of that. This is the time of year in Ohio where everyone is antsy to enjoy warmer weather and I tend to see the tense behaviors. Life is short and this has really hit home lately so I encourage you to forgive, forget, and love!!
