CHI TOWN

We went to Chicago for Jason's 30th birthday and have to say.... love the city and can't wait to go back. We will however pick a less busy weekend. Between the BIG 10 and St. Patty's day it was wall to wall people. As much fun as St. Patrick's day (celebrated on Saturday) was I think my favorite day was Sunday, when we explored the city. We were able to try some of the local restaurants and bars, see the bean, skydeck, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, trolley ride, and overall I have to say it was a successful trip.

Welcome Sign at Willis Tower before going on the Sky Deck. We arrived Friday afternoon, we thought we were making great timing. We made it to Chicago in five in half hours and then we hit traffic, that took another hour. We made in time for Jason's surprise at Willis Tower and to have some drinks and Pizza at Lou Malnatis!! Side note love me some deep dish pizza.

Bar Louie late into the St. Patty's Day Festivities

For party time on St. Patty's day I would say Bar Louie was the best place to go because of the location to our hotel and pricing. We ventured out later in the day but it was pretty packed to really get into anywhere. I am glad we stayed an extra day to see the city. You can see below we were fully content with Car Louie!! I have to thank everyone that was able to make it. They made it such a wonderful experience for Jason on his 30th birthday weekend. The best restaurant we ate at was Rosebud Trattoria, my in-laws discovered it on Saturday and we returned with the group on Sunday to try it out. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe the service and food we had. The next time you are in Chicago, check this place out you will love it! It reminds me of the old school Italians; ladies first, formal hand, and honesty.

Millennium park was worth the trip even with the cold weather, we had a blast touring the city. I can not wait to go back!! We took a trolley ride over to magnificent mile were we did some shopping and tasted Garrett's fantastic popcorn!
